Graystone Consulting, a business of Morgan Stanley, today announced that Kelli Schrade has joined the Stephans Van Liew and Oiler Group, one of the Firm’s largest institutional consulting and private wealth management practices located in Chicago. Ms. Schrade joins as a Senior Partner to lead the team’s manager assessment and due diligence efforts for the growing Chicago-based practice.

Ms. Schrade will join the team’s three senior partners, Managing Directors Linda Stephans, Kristina Van Liew, and Erik Oiler, and work with a large variety of clients including healthcare organizations, research institutes, university endowments, corporate pension plans, family offices and high net worth individuals. She joins from Marquette Associates, Inc., where she served most recently as Managing Partner and Director of Manager Research having primary oversight of their U.S. equity managers.

Ms. Schrade spent over a decade with Marquette Associates and was instrumental in the organization’s growth and success. During her tenure, Ms. Schrade was Chair of the Traditional and Alternative Investment Manager Committees, overseeing $130 billion in client assets. She conducted extensive, in-depth research on U.S. Equity Managers, and was a committee member for $6 billion in discretionary assets, responsible for asset allocation, manager selection, cash management and rebalancing for institutional clients. Ms. Schrade is a recognized industry leader, speaking at top investment conferences on topics from alternative investments to asset allocation and macroeconomic themes. In addition, she has been quoted on investments throughout the national media, including Barron’s and the Wall Street Journal.

Before joining Marquette, Ms. Schrade was an Investment Advisor with Christian Brothers Investment Services, and a Managing Editor and Mutual Fund Analyst with Morningstar, Inc. focusing on U.S. equity funds.
